STOP PRESS: 12 Feb 2026: Change of route

Owing to the number of potholes along our usual route, the organisers have decided to use a different route for 2026.  Instead of starting at Horton School, the run will start at Bennett Engineering, just down the hill from the Village Hall.  It will finish as usual at the Village Hall.

The length is 6.8km (4.2 miles) which is almost exactly the same length as the previous course.

It is now a “hybrid” course rather than a road course as there is a short section along the bridleway/farm track at the edge of Lower Woods.

This is the entry page for the Horton Bull Run, an annual event located in the picturesque South Gloucestershire village of Horton and the surrounding countryside, this being set within the Cotswolds and adjacent to both Bristol and Bath.

Online entries close at 11pm on Friday 24th April 2026.  Subject to availability we do also accept entries on the day, but it is cheaper to register in advance.

The run will start at 10:30 am on Sunday 26th April 2026.  Please arrive at Race HQ by 10am to allow for collecting your race number and walking to the start point.

Course:

• Scenic country lanes
• First aid support
• Water station on route and at finish

Facilities:

• Kit storage (at owner's risk)
• Hot and cold refreshments (tea, coffee, cold drinks, bacon rolls, cakes) - cash or card accepted.
• Post race presentation
• Car parking (N.B. CLOSES AT 1PM!)

• 1st place Male and Female for each age category:

  • Men/Ladies 41 - 54
  • Veteran Men/Ladies 55 +

Entries:

• Entries limited to 250 - please apply early to avoid disappointment
• Race numbers will be handed out on the day
• Entry fees in advance: £12 (£8 for under 17s)
• Entry fees on the day (if not sold out): £15 (£10 for under 17s)

Please note that on the Checkout form you should not complete the medical info box.  Also for the "Keep me updated" options, please tick Email if you wish to be informed about future Bull Runs, but do not tick Post, Phone or SMS.  We have asked Race Nation to remove these options.

Please also note that photographs will be taken on the day and will be displayed on the Bull Run website.  Please let us know if you do not want your photo to be displayed.
