Take on the Dart Deliverance Challenge in 2026 on Saturday 7th November!
50k and Marathon start in Kingswear, Half Marathon starts in Totnes.
50k – You complete a 5 mile loop around Kingswear and the South West Coast Path before passing by the start line, now you join the Marathon route.
Marathon – Starting at Kingswear you head on the trails through Hoodown and Longwood, before dropping down to Galmpton Creek (don’t worry the tide is out), then you follow quiet country lanes to Stoke Gabriel, a brief visit to the Creek at Stoke Gabriel and then back on Quiet Country lanes to Fleet Mill where you follow the trails to Totnes, you drop down to the Riverside at Totnes, which is also the start location for the Half Marathon, you now follow the Half Marathon Route.
Half Marathon – Starting at Longmarsh in Totnes you head up the river to cross over Vire Bridge and then turn left to head back down the River, you now follow the “South Hams Way” through Tuckenhay, Cornworthy and Dittisham before the finish line in Dartmouth.
There will be 5 Aid Stations on the 50k, 4 Aid Stations on the Marathon and 2 Aid Stations on the Half Marathon.
There is approx 2200ft of ascent in the Half Marathon, approx 4000ft of ascent in the Marathon and approx 4700ft of ascent in the 50k.
The event is Self Navigation – PDF maps and instructions for the route will be sent before event day along with GPX files, the last 13 miles of all the routes are also on the way marked “South Hams Way”.
Bespoke “Dart Deliverance” medal and Cupcake for all finishers.
The provisional timetable of events on the day is:
50k – 8am start with an 8 Hour 30 Minutes Cut Off
Marathon – 9am start with a 7 Hour 30 Minutes Cut Off
Half Marathon – 10am Start with a 6 Hour Cut Off
For the 50k and Marathon you can park in Dartmouth, catch the ferry over to the start at Kingswear and then your car will be close to the finish line in Dartmouth ready for when you finish. For the Half Marathon we will be arranging a coach (optional add on) to take you from Dartmouth to Totnes for the start of the event. Or for all events you can get dropped off by family or friends at your start line.
CUPLESS EVENT!
The Dart Deliverance is a Cupless event, all runners must bring and carry either a water bottle, cup or running backpack with them.
Mandatory Kit (Failure to carry will result in removal from the event)
Please carry a mobile phone with the event day Race Director phone number in it, the phone number will be provided in the race info PDF.
Map of the route (this can be a paper copy, on your phone or on your watch.
Water Bottle or Hydration pack filled to start at least 500ml capacity.
Waterproof Jacket
If you want to have some squash or coke at aid stations you may also want to carry a spare cup.

Race Nutrition/Fuel – While there will be Aid Stations along the route, carrying some food/gels yourself is a good idea, especially for the first section as this stretch of coast path is longer and strenuous, so you may take longer than expected.
