The Peak District Challenge routes are all unmarked on the ground, and it is essential that you have adequate navigation experience. If you aren't an experienced navigator, please join a guided walking group and let a qualified mountain leader guide you safely around the route.
Guides are only available on Copper, Bronze and the overnight section of Silver distances. (Silver entrants must all self-navigate during daylight hours). No guides are available on Gold Ultra or 100-mile-ultra distance.
Mountain Leaders will lead Bronze Walking groups around the whole route aiming to complete at 12hr target pace. Copper groups will be led at 9hr target pace. Led groups will be accompanied on the Silver Challenge overnight only, aiming to complete the first 25km of the 75km Silver Challenge in 8 hours. (Silver challengers must self-navigate during daylight hours).
Guided groups are not suitable for runners or those looking for a competitive finishing time.
