Please note: this is a category CL fell race fun under FRA rules and there is no discount for England Athletics-affiliated runners. No dogs are allowed. The Mendip Muddle is a 20km multi-terrain race. The route is tough (there is 420m of climb), but very interesting, set in some of the finest scenery in the West Country. There are Roman lead mines, underground rivers, a nature reserve, open moorland, potholes, an ancient rabbit warren, an Iron Age fort, deciduous and conifer forest, and prehistoric tumuli. The race will be run under FRA regulations. Start of the race is 10:30 am
There will be drinks stations at approximately 5, 10 and 15 km, and First Aid facilities will be available on the course and at the finish. At race headquarters at the Charterhouse Centre, there are toilet facilities, but changing facilities are limited. Water will be available at the finish. However, to reduce the use of plastic, we encourage all runners to bring their own reusable drinks bottle. Car parking space is limited, so please share if you can.
There will be a prize for the first three male and female runners and for the first MV40, FV40, MV50, FV50, MV60 and FV60. One prize per winner. In the event of veteran runners finishing in the first three of their gender, the respective veteran prize will be awarded to the second runner in that category. Each competitor will receive a race memento. Prize ceremony will be on the day around 12:15 hrs.
NB You must be aged 18 or over on the 16 October 2022 to enter this race.
