About Virtual Palestine Running Festival 2026

Together, we run. Together, we stand. Come run or walk with us and show your support for Palestinian runners who do not have the right to movement. From beginners to speedsters everyone of all abilities are welcome, Run for Palestine is about more than just a race.

The 21km, 10km & 5km all begin together at 11:30am from the most Southern part of Aberdeen beach, the 21km route takes you along the beautiful Aberdeen beach promenade, hugging the pavement as you cross the Bridge of Don and onto the sand at Donmouth putting your fitness to the test. You will then head back South following the same route out, finishing at the end of the promenade on Footdee beach.

The 10km and 5km routes also head North on the promenade but you will turn back earlier :-)

Every finisher will receive a unique finishers medal made locally by The Bonnyton Potter especially for the run.

Prior to the start, all entrants will register at Fittie Community Hall, Aberdeen, where we will then make the short walk over to the start line by the beach.

We will be raising money for HIRN, a West Bank community development organisation.

"HIRN offers responsive and targeted support to some of the most threatened and marginalised Palestinian communities and individuals. HIRN brings compassion, practical help, and encouragement needed to remain and grow in the face of aggression, intimidation, and dispossession."

Did you know there is a marathon which takes place in Bethlehem, Palestine each year in late April (conditions allowing)? The streets of the "little town" are filled with thousands of runners making their way between the Israeli military checkpoints which ring the city. The runners assert their demand for freedom of movement, which is currently very restricted. The route passes through a refugee camp and under the watch towers which stud the Separation Wall.

The Virtual Palestine Running Festival is endorsed by some of the founders of the Palestine Marathon.
