The Cockington Christmas Caper has been organised since 2004 by local Christian Charity, The Barnabas Sports Trust. The race has a permit from the Association of Running Clubs (permit number - ARC/25/0349).

The 2025 race will again be at Occombe Farm. Occombe Farm benefits from free car parking, a wonderful cafe and lots for the family to do.

£1 from every entry will be donated to the Torbay Coast and Country Trust, a registered conservation charity who care for over 1700 acres of Torbay's most beautiful natural spaces, including the land the race is run on. The race will be 8 1/2 miles approximately.

It is an off road race on trails, footpaths and cycle paths, the route is very hilly and often muddy (trail shoes are recommended)

Every finisher will receive a mug, bag and a piece of Christmas cake.

Entries close at 7 p.m. on Wednesday 26th November - transfers will be accepted up to Wednesday 3rd December at 7 p.m. No entries or transfers on the day.

We are a small charity run entirely by volunteers, and from the moment we begin organising an event, we begin to incur costs. Your entry fee goes directly toward covering event expenses and supporting our selected charities. Organising any event involves significant planning, risk, and financial commitment. As a result, we cannot offer refunds or carry over entries to the following year.

In the event that the race is cancelled due to weather warnings or other unforeseen circumstances, we will make every effort to reschedule the race for the following week. Participants will have the option to transfer their place to another runner if they are unable to attend the new date. However, we cannot transfer entries to next year's event or issue a refund

Race entry closes at 8pm on Wednesday 26th November, no entries will be accepted after this time.

You can transfer your entry to another runner up to 7pm on Wednesday 3rd December, no transfers will be accepted after this time. (sorry we are unable to provide refunds)

Runners must be 17 or over on the day of the race.
