BIGGER & BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE! FAMILIES CAN NOW SHARE IN THE OCCASION

Family groups are most welcome to join our walk in the final stages of the Round Island Walk on the afternoon of 5 June 2021. Why not be part of one of Guernsey's principal community fund raising events. It is so simple to register.

All we need is the name and contact details of one adult as the Family Leader. Simply select the [+ADD] button once in the Registration Panel below and then proceed to CHECKOUT.

From the CHECKOUT screen you will be asked to input key contact details and be able to increase the size of your party up to maximum of 8 walkers by adding just £5 per additional walker beyond the group of 4.

Our corporate sponsors kindly meet our costs so ALL the money we raise from registration fees goes to the selected Bailiwick Charities chosen by us to benefit from this year's walk. But we urge you to do more. Please use the Race Nation Donation and Fund-Raising pages to attract further sponsorship. Alternatively there is a downloadable sponsorship form available on the home page of our main website which can be found using the link in the panel to the right of the screen.(www.safferyrotarywalk.org.gg) .

Fund raising aside, you will have a tremendous afternoon joining the hundreds of walkers crossing the finish line as they conclude their more arduous circumnavigation of Guernsey's wonderful coastline.

Registration

SADLY YOU HAVE MISSED THE DEADLINE FOR PRE-REGISTRATION

But don't give up - You are still most welcome to join us tomorrow!

Just turn up at either of the Family Walk start points and make a donation of £40 for up to 4 walkers and we will be pleased to provide each of you with one of our amazing walk caps. Additional walkers can register for £5 each.

Your options:-

9 Mile Walk - Join us between 12.00 Noon and 1.00 pm at the Chouet Car park (in front of Roc Salt Restaurant) and be part of the Walk around the northern most part of the Island and down the East Coast back to the Finish in the heart of St Peter Port.

3.5 Mile Walk - From 2.00pm we will be setting off those wishing to undertake this final leg of the Walk from our checkpoint at Bordeaux.

Either way you will be very much part of this huge community event and enjoy sharing the achievement of crossing the Finish Line and picking up a commemorative medal. We look forward to seeing you there.

About Saffery Families Walking Together 2021

9 MILE FAMILIES WALKING TOGETHER - 5 JUNE 2021

We are pleased to report that for the first time Family Groups are invited to take part in this year's Saffery Rotary Walk which is returning to the Island's annual calendar BIGGER and BETTER than ever before. What an opportunity to shake off the disappointments caused by the Lockdowns of the past year.

If you wish to walk as a Family Group you are most welcome to join us for the concluding two stages of the Walk. From Noon, family groups will be joining the Walk at our checkpoint in the Chouet car park (In front of Roc Salt Restaurant) and walk around the coast to our lively FINISH at North Beach in the centre of St Peter Port - a distance of 9 miles. If that is a step too far for you or your children, why not join us at Bordeaux (from 2.00 pm) for the 3.5 mile walk into town.

All we ask is that one adult registers and takes responsibility for the care of the group. He or she is also asked to carry a charged mobile phone so that contact can be made at any time to our Walk Control Helpline should anything unforeseen occur. Everyone in the group gets one of our distinctive peaked caps to identify you as taking part in the event.

As well as being a fantastic community occasion, the Saffery Rotary Walk is a fundraising opportunity. You will be pleased to learn that 100% of your registration fee will be added, without deduction, to our donations to the 22 pre-selected Bailiwick Charities. Money raised in the Island for the Island. But additionally, you are encouraged to raise as much sponsorship as you are able. Either using our downloadable sponsorship form or through the Race Nation fund raising facility.

Remember that in registering for the Walk, you are agreeing to support those specific charities which have successfully applied to the organisers for funds. The Walk is not intended as a vehicle to raise funds for other charities.
