ROC24 [Suffolk 2022] is an epic endurance event for runners and walkers on the Suffolk Coast, with 6-hour and 24-hour races for solo's or relay teams to take on.
With a beautiful 5k mixed terrain course by the River Orwell, weekend camping, outstanding facilities and a friendly community vibe, you are guaranteed stunning running and a weekend to remember.
ROC24 will take place at Ipswich High School, Woolverstone Hall, on 7th & 8th May 2022, with overnight camping also available on Friday 6th May. Woolverstone Hall is a Grade I listed building set in 80 acres of parkland located on the banks of the River Orwell, Suffolk, only 10 minutes drive from Ipswich town centre and within easy access of the A12 / A14.
The 5k course covers as much of the parkland as possible, as it sweeps over manicured lawns, woodland, sheep grazing fields and camping area, with a river vista.
24-hour race participants aged 18+ on the date of the event can enter as solo's or in teams of up to eight relay members (male / female / mixed).
6-hour race participants aged 18+ on the date of the event can enter as solo's or in teams of up to two relay members (male / female / mixed).
Team details can be confirmed closer to the event and you can also enter as a ‘Team Nomad’ member if you want us to help you find a team of 2-8 friendly members!
Participants are permitted to run, jog walk and can decide how many laps they will complete. For example, in a team of two or more, one team member could complete a single 5k lap during the race, while the remaining teammates complete multiple laps (continuously or spread out across the race period). Only one member of a team is allowed on the course at any one time. Mobility assistance is permitted if deemed safe for all participants - please contact the event team for more information before entering at firstname.lastname@example.org.
All solo's and team members are required to complete a minimum of one recorded lap to be considered eligible for a result and to receive a race medal.
Participants who complete 100 miles or more during the 24-hour race will also receive a special '100 mile club member' medal in recognition of this outstanding achievement (personalised race tee shirts are also available on request).
The 24-hour race will start at 11am on the Saturday and 6-hour race at noon on Saturday.
Podium trophies (1st, 2nd and 3rd) will be awarded for the most distance completed in each category (solo, teams of 2-4 & teams of 5-8).
ROC24 is a family friendly event with children's play area and a Race Village with hot and cold food and drink available, while clubs and teams are encouraged to erect gazebos beside the course to support participants.
Massage services will be provided by Bridget Read and Jen Evans Soft Tissue Therapy Services, with donations to our partner Charity St Elizabeth Hospice.
Indoor shower, toilet and changing facilities are available throughout.
Water stations will be set-up along the course and complimentary hot and cold drinks will be available overnight.
