ROC Coastal Sportive is a 50 mile cycling challenge starting at dawn (approx 04.30) at South Pier, Lowestoft, which follows the coastal cycling route into Norfolk and and loops back to Lowestoft, past Gorleston-on-sea and passes through areas of outstanding natural beauty, and historic towns and villages.
The event will be chip timed, with podium prizes up for grabs, and all participants will receive a medal on crossing the finish line. Water stations will be located around the halfway mark of each course.
The First Light Festival is a 24-hour multi arts festival in a beautiful Suffolk coastal setting that will celebrate one cycle of midsummer sun setting and rising over the beach. Weekend camping is available too.
The event is fundraising in support of local charity St Elizabeth Hospice, to help improve the lives of people living with a progressive illness in East Suffolk, Great Yarmouth and Waveney. The hospice provides essential services free of charge, with three quarters of the funding needed raised within the local community. St Elizabeth Hospice volunteers will be helping marshal the courses, and any donations that are made in support of the hospice will be gratefully received.
The event will be chip timed, with podium prizes, with all participants receiving a medal on crossing the finish line. Camping plots are available for purchase via the First Light Festival website from February 2022.
Entries are open to participants aged 18 or over on 19 June 2022 with Early Bird prices available until the end of February. The event instructions and course map will be available soon and emailed to all entries.
