Helvellyn via Kepple Cove 

Hike one of the most sought after routes with R2R and Summit to Success.

Led by Dan Bottomley, former Royal Marine and supported by members of the R2R team you will hike one of the most sought after hiking routes in the country.

Distance : Approx 16km – 10 miles

Ascent: 900m – 3000 ft

Time: 6 hours

This is the easiest route up Helvellyn from Patterdale and Glenridding way as it avoids both Striding Edge and Swirall Edge, taking instead the “Pony Path” up via Keppel Cove to ascend Hevellyn via Whiteside and Helvellyn Lower Man.

It gives wonderful views and once on the summit the more technical ridges of Swirral and Striding Edge can be seen.

This is more akin to a normal walking route as all technicalities are avoided and there are good paths and mountains path.
