ENTRY INFORMATION
This is a fun running event on a live runway, so we are unable to accommodate scooters, skates, skateboards, bikes, or other modes of transport except wheelchairs.
We ask that anyone with mobility or support needs please contact us via pojcsr@ports.je at least three days prior to the event. We will discuss with you how we can best support and ensure your access and participation in our event.
The distance is 3.4k and can be walked, subject to the distance being completed in 40 minutes or less.
All entrants must complete their name and date of birth to match their photographic ID which is to be brought on the day.
All entrants will need to show the same photographic ID used at registration (passport or driving licence), to comply with aerodrome security regulations. ID must be presented at check-in on the event day. The runway is a restricted area and security is extremely important.
Tickets are non-transferable and if any of the information on your entry differs from your photographic ID, you will not be able to take part in the race.
Tickets are available for sale until 23:55 on the day prior to the event, unless sold out prior to that time.
Due to the potentially late start, the minimum age to participate is 11. All young people between the ages of 12 – 16 must be always accompanied by a registered adult. 16–18-year-olds do not have to be accompanied by an adult.
If you are accompanying a young person under 16 who does not have a passport, please email pojcsr@ports.je at least three days in advance and Ports of Jersey will advise you of an alternative form of identification.
Registration is held at the Aero Club and run by authorised security personnel to comply with the aerodrome security regulations. Registration is open between 20:30 until 21.15. If you miss the registration times, you will not be able to take part.
Please be prepared to wait, we aim to begin the race around 22:00 hours but that is subject to flight scheduling.
Photographs and social media:
A condition of entry is the consent of the ticket-holder, on behalf of themselves and any minors accompanying them, to be filmed or photographed for reporting in the media or inclusion in the Ports of Jersey and charity partners publications, social media, website and recordings.
Important information:
In the event of an airport extension or ambulance flight, we reserve the right to delay, postpone or cancel the event.
In the event of a poor weather forecast, a decision will be taken the day before and the event may be postponed.
Please register your entry via the tickets on this page. Entry costs £25 per ticket and you are welcome to make an additional donation via the website to #369 Scout Groups Jersey. All funds raised will go directly to the charity.
The #369 Scout Group comprises of the 3rd Jersey (St Saviour), the 6th Jersey (St Mary & Trinity) and the 9th Jersey (St Lukes) Scout Groups, and we have joined forces to offer as many awesome opportunities as possible to our youth members. With just over 350 young people from across our Groups, we are busy!
In 2025 we are taking 48 young people to an activity centre on the Isle of Wight and in 2026 we are getting ready to take 40 young people and 10 adult volunteer to an international Jamboree called Poacher 2026 in Lincolnshire.
Poacher 2026 will bring together thousands of Scouts and Guides from across the globe for a week of adventure, learning, and international friendship. It represents a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our young people to develop vital life skills, build confidence, experience different cultures, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
As a voluntary organisation, we strive to make Scouting accessible to all. However, attending off-island trips involves higher costs covering event fees, camping equipment, uniforms, transport, and food. All participants will be charged to attend, but any monies will enable us to reduce the costs for our members.
Being part of this Runway challenge helps our vision to not only promote Scouting, but also raise some much needed funds to enable us to offer more opportunities.
Please read all the entry information prior to entering.
This event is run by kind permission of Ports of Jersey. Thank you to the Airport Director for allowing this event and to Airport Rescue and Fire Fighting Service, Group Technical Services, Air Traffic Control, Passenger Services and Security who are giving up their time to help organise and manage this event.
Special thanks to the Aero Club for hosting the event.
