A fun run around the scenic and historic Anderida Park, in the shadow of Pevensey Castle this event is designed to offer a late Summer, friendly event around the village of Pevensey. Joining the start line on Pevensey Recreation Ground, the route will wind round Anderida Park with the Castle always in view.
The route sees two laps of the Pevensey Castle outer Bailey via a public footpath, before heading down Church Lane, passing the historic St Nicolas Church, before heading back into the Recreation Ground. The event is predicated on 2 laps of the whole route.
The event offers close proximity to Pevensey Castle where William the Conqueror landed in 1066 prior to the Battle of Hastings.
In view of the route is both the historic Mint House and the Gaol. The Royal Oak and Castle Public House is on the route and The Smugglers close by. The Castle Cottage Tea Rooms looks over the route. Pevensey was also the subject of JMW Turner who painted ‘Pevensey Castle’.
