The Salt Pans Ultra is a 50/100kms ultra trail race in the Makgadikgadi salt flats of Central Botswana. The race is possibly the hardest flat race in the World.  While it will test you both physically and mentally it will also leave you with life long memories and an unforgettable experience.  The magic of Africa and the uniqueness of running on the pans won't fail to impress or humble.  

There are few places on earth where there is so little of anything.  No markers, few features, just miles and miles of sand.  A sea of it.  The heat, the wind and the glare will all ensure you need to dig deep to finish.  Many don't. We offer a very comfortable race village with large tents, great meals cooked on an open fire and a dozen stories to share about your race experience.  Many runners have described it as if they were running on the Moon.
