The first Newbury Triathlon took place in 1987, making it one of the longest-running triathlon events in the UK. Over the years, the event has grown in popularity and has become a staple in the local sporting calendar. The Newbury Triathlon continues to attract participants from all over the country, showcasing the town of Newbury as a hub for triathlon enthusiasts.

The Newbury Triathlon takes place in the beautiful countryside surroundings of Berkshire, providing a picturesque backdrop for your race. Enjoy the stunning views and fresh air as you compete in the event. It is known for its friendly and supportive atmosphere, with fellow participants, volunteers, and spectators cheering you on every step of the way. It's a great opportunity to meet like-minded individuals and be part of a community of triathletes. Being a sprint triathlon, this event is an ideal way of dipping your toe into the sport, you don’t need a fancy bike, swish helmet, or be able to run a marathon. Come and give it a go, everyone is welcome.
The Newbury Triathlon typically takes place in Newbury, Berkshire, UK. It usually makes use of the newly refurbished outdoor swimming pool at the Northcroft leisure centre, which is also the location for the transition area. There is plenty of on site parking on the field adjacent to the leisure centre. Swim in the outdoor pool, bike ride through the surrounding countryside, and a run along the River Kennett. The scenic setting of Newbury provides a beautiful backdrop for the triathlon, allowing participants to enjoy the natural beauty of the region as they compete in the event.

The 2025 event will take place on Sunday 7th September 2025. This’ll be the 38th year of Newbury Triathlon. We hope to offer entires on the day for the first time.
