The Runaway Train is a community focused walk/run celebrating the Windsor Hill railway path. The 8½ mile and 3 mile running races are super scenic, taking in woods, valleys, distant hills, dark tunnels and high viaducts. The rugged trail race offers something for everyone, the shorter 3 mile course is less challenging whilst the 8½ mile route has long inclines totalling 1500ft elevation gain. There will be race chip timing for competitive entrants, whilst families and social runners alike can enjoy entertainment on route! The race finishes in the heart of Shepton Mallet where crowds gather for a Boxty feast, complete with Pilton Cider bar and music!
