If we all work together we can complete this challenge, add as much activity as you can, whether it's a training run or just a dog walk every mile counts. Record your mileage using the Strava app and upload as many activities as you can! Use your www.my.race-nation.co.uk account online or RaceNation app to upload your results.
Leek Hockey Club are organising a virtual 5,466 mile Walk-Run-Cycle from Leek to Seoul, in South Korea in support of Imran Sherwani the Club's former player, coach and current 'life member'.
Imran won a Gold Medal at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul, scoring two goals for Great Britain in the final. Imran has a long standing relationship with Leek HC, playing for us from 1996 - 2015. Imran has revealed that he was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s in December 2019, aged just 57.
Imran’s son Zac and fellow Seoul gold medal winner Steve Batchelor have assembled a team to take on the Virgin Money London Marathon in October to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK. We’ve teamed up with Alzheimer’s Research UK to support their ‘Go for Gold’ campaign. It’s an opportunity for members of Leek HC, ex members and friends to fundraise as much as you can for Imran and the millions of people across the UK impacted by dementia.
We are organising a virtual Walk-Run-Cycle from Leek to Seoul, some 5,466miles! We need as many members and associates to register and log their miles online though the app. Whether you are walking the dog, doing a training run or cycling to work - every mile counts! All activity from August 15th - September 19th can be registered.
