This is a pool based triathlon for any junior triathletes born in 2015 (Tristars Start) - 2005.

Please arrive so as to register and be ready poolside for 07:30.  There will be a structured warm up followed by a swim:
Tristars Start (2015): 50m (2 lengths)
Tristars 1 (2013-4): 100m (4 lengths)
Tristars 2 (2011-2): 200m (8 lengths)
Tristars 3 and Youth (2005-10): 300m (12 lengths)
Please bring a swimming hat, goggles and either a swimming costume or trisuit.  After their warm up, athletes may be sat on the side so a towel or 'dry robe' style towel to keep them warm would be advisable.  Athletes will leave the pool area and run into transition and then complete a cycle and run as follows:
Tristars Start (2015): Bike 1.5km (1 lap), Run 600m (1 lap)
Tristars 1 (2013-4): Bike 3km (2 laps), Run 1200m (2 laps)
Tristars 2 (2011-2): Bike 6km (4 laps), Run 1800m (3 laps)
Tristars 3 and Youth (2005-10): Bike 7.5km (5 laps), Run 2400m (4 laps)
Athletes need a road worthy bike (two functioning brakes, plugged handle bars, tightened components and properly inflated tyres), an adjusted and well fitting cycle helmet and shoes and clothes suitable for running and cycling.  Unless they use a mountain bike, any racing style bike should be appropriately restricted (google British Cycling guidelines if unsure).  Athletes should have food and drink for before, during and after their event.  The weather forecast looks good but may be cold early on and they should dress accordingly with layers for before and after.
