The 4th round of the Cross Country MTB Series is to be held on Saturday 17th May (Jersey Youth Cycling) and Sunday 18th May for Seniors at the Val de la Mare MTB Course. 

Jersey Youth Cycling Information 

Race date:  

Saturday 17th May for children born between 2011-2018.

U8   (2017-2018) 

U10 (2015-2016) 

U12 (2013-2014) 

U14 (2011-2012) 

Please note: U14 riders have the option to race with JYC or with the senior races (See below) based on their skills / confidence, however parents must make contact with JYC prior to the race weekend as this needs to be agreed to by the coaching team. (info@youthcycling.je) Even if a rider has raced with seniors for the cyclocross series, please contact the club to ensure you are signed off for the MTB series also. 

Cost: 

JYC members – free entry 

Non-members - £5 per race (this includes £1 for a one day licence to race) 

Saturday Timings: 

12:30 - Course Setup (Youth & Senior) 

13:30 - Sign on (parent must be present at sign-on) 

13:30 - 14:00 Course Practice  

14:00 - 15:00 Racing 

Series information: 

There are 5 races in total, with 4 scores to count towards the series standings. Riders must complete a minimum of 3 races to be eligible for the series placings. 

Important information: 

• A well-maintained bike that can ride off-road.

• Dress appropriately for the weather. 


• Race numbers will be provided at the first race and MUST be displayed on the front of the bike. These numbers MUST be used for all subsequent races. 


• Parents will be required to help on the day to support the races. 

Online entry is open until 8pm on Friday. Late entries will not be accepted.

Seniors Information 

Racing will be based on a fast-flowing course with short punchy climbs with small technical areas. 

 

Expected Race durations will be based on 60 minutes for all categories except for JYC Riders in the following categories 30 Minutes Youth and 45 Minutes Junior riders. Furthermore, along with the Elite category at 90 minutes.
