After a longer wait than we would have liked, we are delighted to welcome you to Round 3 of Jersey Cycling's 2020/21 Cyclocross series to be held at Les Quennevais Sports Centre on Sunday, 28th March, 2021.
This event will adhere to the latest Covid regulations. Please read the following information to make yourself familiar with the event details as it is very important that everyone respects the regulations in place. There will be two separate races split by a gap of 40 minutes. After your race has completed, please return your timing chips and vacate the venue as soon as possible after. Spectators are not permiited for this event. All participants must maintain a 2m distancing at all times.
There will be two races 'Elite' and 'Sport' with separate categories for Ladies within each race. The Ladies races will start 2 minutes ahead of the rest of the field.
The Elite race will be approximately 50 minutes in duration. Whilst Juniors and Youth riders will be accepted, they must be minimum 2nd year Youth B and endorsed by the Coaching team of the JYC. The event will be limited to 38 riders and the Organisers reserve the right to move riders to the Sport race if oversubscribed.
The Sport race will be run over the same course and will be approximately 35 minutes in duration. The Sport race is intended to be a fun race and is perfectly suited to both newcomers and experienced riders. Juniors and Youth riders will be accepted, they must be minimum Youth B. The event will be limited to 38 riders.
Points will be awarded to all starters in each category, with 15 points for each category winner, 14 for second place etc down to all finishers getting a minimum of 2 points and all starters a minimum of 1 point. All 5 rounds to count and the series winner in each category will be the one to have attained most points over the series. Gridding at each round will be based on current points positions.
This event will run in accordance with current Covid19 guidelines. Riders from the Sport event must vacate the venue as quickly as possible after the finish. Riders for the Elite Race must arrive no earlier than 15 minutes before course familiarisation to collect race chips and must move to the holding area near the start line. Participants and Officials must maintain a minimum 2 metre distancing at all times. There will be a designated Officials area by the start/finish location. To meet with Covid restrictions, you must not enter this segregated area. No spectators will be allowed for either race.
Races will have gridded starts with minimum 2 metre distancing.
Sadly, we will not be able to run the JYC races at this event. We expect that they will return with Round 4.

10.15 - 10.20 - CX Sport to vacate the venue
10.50 - 11.05 - Timing Chip collection - Elite
10.55 - 11.15 - Course familiarisation - Elite
11.15 - 11.20 - Race Briefing at the start location - Elite
11.20 - 12.10 - CX Elite Race - 50 mins
Sign on will be online with race number chips available for collection from the start area. Entries on the day will NOT be accepted.
Registration for the event will open at 6pm on the 22nd March and close at 6 pm on 26th March. Those who have registered for the full series should already have received a confirmation of entry at the time of entry to the series.
