Welcome to Round 1 of the Jersey Cycling's 2024/25 Cyclocross series sponsored by Legendre This first event will be held at Les Quennevais.
There will be two senior races split by the different age categories plus Youth races for u12's and under run by Jersey Youth Cycling. Please read carefully to make sure you enter your correct category:
Ladies races are for Ladies only whilst Open races are open to any gender eg Ladies can enter the Open category if they would rather. This is aligned to British Cycling categorisations.
Race 1 which will be approximately 45 mins for Ladies (seniors,youth/Juniors vet40, vet50 and vet60), Youth Boys and Open vet50 / vet60's
Race 2 which will be approximately 60 mins for Junior boys, Senior Open and vet40 Open
Both races will run over the same course. Juniors and Youth riders must be minimum Youth B.
Gridding for round 1 will be defined by the Organisers and thereafter by overall series points position
U6, U8, U10 and U12 races will run before the Senior races and will be organised by Jersey Youth Cycling
The timetable of events will be:
09:30 - 10-30 - U6, U8, U10 and U12 Races
10.30 - 10.55 - Course familiarisation
10.55. - Race Briefing
11.00 - 11.45 - Ladies (seniors,youth/Juniors vet40, vet50 and vet60) Youth Open and vet50, vet60 Open - 45 mins
11.55 - Race Briefing
12.00 - 13.00 - Junior Open, Senior and vet 40 Open - 60 mins
There will be a designated pits area near the start / finish. This will be the only area where riders can receive outside assistance during the race
Riders need to elect to carry a bottle at the start of the event if they wish. There will be no handing of bottles or gels to riders during the races themselves,
if you are racing race two please volunteer to help with marshalling race one.
Sign on will be online with race number chips available at the start line area. Entries on the day will be accepted.at £15 for those with their own timing chips or £17 for those without.
Points will be awarded to all starters in each category, with 50 points for each race winner, 48 points for second place, 46 points for third place, 44 points for fourth place, 42 points for fifth place, 41 points for 6th place etc etc. All finishers will receive points. Your best 4 results from the 5 rounds will count for the series. The series winner in each category will be the one to have attained most points over 4 rounds. If you race all 5 rounds your lowest placing will be dropped.
Course set up will take place on Sunday from 08:00am and we would request as many to help as we can. Anyone helping with course set up will get the benefit of a pre event practice once the course is built.
Please note that our Cyclocross season extends from 2024 into 2025, age classifications are based on your 2025 age groupings in line with British Cycling classifications.
