About Jersey Cycling Cyclocross GC Series Round 1 - 5th December, 2021

We take a break from the 2021/22 Cyclocross Points Series during December and commence a short 3 race GC series where cumulative time over the 3 races will determine overall positions.

Round 1 of 3 will be held at Rozel Camping on Sunday 5th December in St Martin.

There will be two races 'Elite' and 'Sport' with separate categories for Ladies within each race. Where numbers make sense, the Ladies races will start 2 minutes ahead of the rest of the field.

The Elite race will be approximately 50 minutes in duration. Whilst Juniors and Youth riders will be accepted, they must be minimum 2nd year Youth B and endorsed by the Coaching team of the JYC. The event will be limited to 50 riders and the Organisers reserve the right to move riders to the Sport race if oversubscribed.

The Sport race will be run over the same (or similar) course and will be approximately 30 minutes in duration. The Sport race is intended to be a fun race and is perfectly suited to both newcomers and experienced riders. Juniors and Youth riders will be accepted, they must be minimum Youth B. The event will be limited to 50 riders.

Any riders lapped during the race will have the same time as their slowest lap + 1 minute added to their overall time to ensure all riders have a race time for the same numbers of laps The series winner in each category will be the one to have completed all 3 races in the shortest overall time in the same way as a stage race on the road.. Gridding for the first round will be based on current positions in the Points Series.

The timetable of events will be:

09.30 - 09.45 - Course familiarisation

09.50 - 10.20 - CX Sport - 30 mins

10.30 - 10.45 - Course familiarisation

10.50 - 11.40 - CX Elite - 50 mins

11.50 - 12.00 - JYC Course familiarisation

12.00 - 13.00 - JYC races

Sign on will be online with race number chips available from 09.15 at the JYC Marquee. Entries on the day will NOT be accepted.

Registration for the JYC races will be managed by JYC and notifications will be sent out to members. JYC will also run and manage the JYC races.
