Gade Valley Harriers continue our partnership with John F Kennedy Catholic School as we bring you another two-part series of our Marathon Training Runs, with two distances available on each date. Ideal for all runners training for spring marathons, all of our routes go through idyllic Hertfordshire countryside and offer views of the beautiful Ashridge Estate.

The events will be fully signed and marshalled, with water stops and a jelly baby stop, just like a race but without the pressure of a time or position. 

Please note, the longer route is actually 20.2 miles as it shares the finish line with the 17 mile event.

Timetable for day

• 08.00: Car park and registration opens.


• 09.00: Early start for anyone who wishes to run at 12 minute miles or slower (guided by one of our members for the first few miles).


• 09.30: Main start. We will have a tail runner to ensure no one is left behind.


• 10.30 onwards: Free cakes and hot and cold drinks will be available for all participants.

This year we are raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support in memory of late club members Helen Heathcote (GVH MTR Director 2018 - 2022) and Nicki McDermott.
