The Corsham 10K is celebrating its 40th anniversary and you are all invited. The event is organised by members of the Corsham Running Club and it's one of the biggest 10Ks in Wiltshire, attracting 1400 recreational runners and runners from local clubs in the South West and further afield and this year we have been selected as one of the chosen races for the Wiltshire Road Race League.
Like many races around the world, we are also greening up our event. In 2018 we stopped giving out plastic bottles of water on the course and at the finish; instead we now hand out water in recyclable cups. This seemed to go down well with just about everyone who has experienced them.
In 2022, we introduced the wooden medals and in 2023 the t-shirts are to be made from recycled materials.
Our commitment to giving runners a choice to make races less wasteful continues. All finishers of the 10K will have a choice; runners can opt not to collect the medal, t-shirt and Marshfield Farm Ice cream at the finish. We are calling this the No Frills Package and there is a reduced fee for this option. Or you can have the medal, t-shirt (both newly designed for 2023) and Marshfield Farm Ice cream - It's up to you!
A 10K road race, with partial road closures. Starting and finishing at Corsham Football Club on the Lacock Road. The race progresses through Corsham, then onto Westwells and the beautiful village of Neston. The route is marshalled by members of Corsham Running Club and other local community groups, with one water station at the half way point.
Prizes will be awarded at 12pm at the Corsham Football Club.
We have a race village with a variety of stalls including selling cakes, drinks, refreshments. Also a massage service and running clinic will be available to all runners.
For the Corsham 10K 2023 the prize money is:
1st place Male and Female £100.00
2nd place Male and Female £75.00
3rd place Male and Female £50.00
We involve and support as many local organisations as possible and are grateful for the kind sponsorship from local businesses. Any surplus monies after costs are donated to local charities. The 2022 10K supported seven local charities, local community groups and schools. For more information visit corsham10k.co.uk
