Mock MIPIM Training Ride – 16/2/19
A 3 stage training ride (total 179km) to try and mimic 3 stages of the actual ride and give people the opportunity of trying longer distances than they may normally ride. We head out of Richmond, down to Farnham in Surrey, then through Hampshire and Berkshire to Warren Road (great cake + cheese toastie stop!) and then back to Richmond.
The aim of the ride is to get people experience of spending a decent chunk of time on their bike - eating, drinking and sitting on the bike rather than fitness. It’s a good opportunity to see how your body, kit, nutrition gets on. The route is split into 3 stages of similar length to the Cycle to MIPIM stages. Everyone is welcome and we will go at a steady pace to suit all riders. If there are larger numbers of riders we may split into smaller groups. We also purposely go past a few train stations (see below) so that people can choose to do a length to suit them.
Start: Richmond station (The Quadrant, Richmond TW9 1EZ)
Depart: 07.30am and be back around 5pm.
Stage 1: Richmond – Farnham, 58km (354m elevation gain).
Stage 2: Farnham – Warren Row, 68km (548m elevation gain).
Stage 3: Warren Row – Richmond, 52km (162m elevation gain)
Overall: 179km (1064m elevation gain)
Train station options:
Farnham: 58km
Bramley: 91km
Winnersh: 112km
Twyford: 119km
Windsor: 146km (Windsor Central only – Windsor & Eton Riverside station is closed on 16/2/19 for engineering works)
