We are back with the 12th Chew Valley 10k on Sunday 9th June 2024 at 9.30am, with our beautiful rural route and fabulous hill! We are delighted to be supported by our two main sponsors, Winford Ford and Brock & Houlford Expert Eyecare, two great local businesses, who share our enthusiasm to encourage activity in our community and raise as much money and awareness for our beneficiaries as possible.

Our Race Headquarters at Bishop Sutton Village Hall and the Village Field behind allow for plenty of space to warm up and catch-up with fellow runners - refreshments and delicious cakes will also be available, provided by our friends at Bishop Sutton Pre-School and Forest School!

What You Will Get:

  • Bespoke event medal and option of technical t-shirt

  • Reduced rates for 15-18 year olds

  • Chip timed, UK Athletics licenced event

  • For your convenience, your race number will be mailed to you prior to the event.

This year, we are raising much-needed funds for Chew Valley School Society, Bishop Sutton School Society, NICU Support, based in Norton Malreward, (who support Neo-Natal units in the Bristol, Bath and surrounding area) and Black2Nature, a local charity based in Compton Martin, dedicated to connecting Visibly Minority Ethnic young people to nature in the Chew Valley through workshops, day trips, Chew Camps and other events. Find out more about our beneficiaries by clicking on their logos. Our refreshments and cakes will raise funds for Bishop Sutton Pre-School and Forest School.

  • You can opt to give a Sportsgiving donation on entry, if you would like to - simply click on the drop-down box when prompted and you can round your entry up to the nearest pound, fiver or more. Or opt out of a T-shirt and donate the difference to Chew Valley Plants Trees, a local community organisation that aims to double tree cover in the Chew Valley by 2030 (www.chewvalleyplantstrees.co.uk) You can also choose to set-up a Sportsgiving page at the click of a button on entry and raise further funds for one of our beneficiaries, or a charity of your choice.

About Chew Valley 10k 2024

Welcome to the 12th Chew Valley 10k - Sunday 9th June 2024: 9.30am Start

Our race start will once again be just up from Race Headquarters at Bishop Sutton Village Hall, Wick Road, with closed roads at the start and finish.  Our parking is free and is just up the road at Westway Farm.

From Wick Road (just after New Manor Farm Shop), you will turn left at Widcombe Common and take in some beautiful, undulating rural lanes, set in the backdrop of the Mendip Hills. Another left further on takes you to Coley Hill about half way - lovely and leafy and with marshals cheering you on at the bottom and top! The route then takes in the Upper Lane in Hinton Blewett, past the Ring o' Bells pub and then left back out of the village and towards Top Sutton, with minimal traffic on the main open route.

The last 2km or so is a wonderful drop back down Sutton Hill Road to the back of Bishop Sutton Primary School and a very warm welcome home!

If you are a wheelchair user, are visually impaired or have a disability where you will require a buddy/guide runner, please contact Denise on email@chewvalley10k.co.uk to to discuss a free buddy/guide runner place. Denise can also arrange a reccie of the route for you.

Huge thanks to our two main sponsors, Winford Ford and Brock & Houlford Expert Eyecare - we really appreciate it.
