About Gloucester Marathon 2020

Race Venue 

Registration and General Enquires
located at Severn Vale Sports Centre School Lane, Quedgeley Gloucester. GL2 4PR between7.30am to 08.50am your race Pack with your running number and chip for the Gloucester Marathon will be sent to you 10 days prior to the race

Anyone who has lost there race number and chip or did not receive there race pack in the post will need to go to the help desk at registration and general enquires on the day of the race between 7.30am to 08.50am

Entry Fee charges

There is an increase in the charges by Highways Management Contractors to put road closures in place on the course this as necessitated an increase on last year’s entry fee.

Runners must be 18 Years of age on the day of the race

Time Limit
There is a strict 6 Hour Time Limit

Baggage can be left at Severn Vale Sports Centre, School Lane, Quedgeley, Gloucester GL2 4PR.

Race Briefing
This will take place on the Start line at 08.55am

The Race Start is 09.00am
The Race Start is in School Lane when you come out of the main entrance Severn Vale Sports Centre turn left into School Lane just before Courtfield Drive on your right hand side of the road is the Start of the Gloucester Marathon 30 metres from the main entrance of the Sports Centre.

There will be a Start gantry across the road this is the Gloucester Marathon Start. The course is flat and fast if you’re looking for a personal best time.

The Course
The course is two laps in Quedgeley followed by a one mile section to the main loop then 4 laps of 5.5 miles then 1 mile to the finish. The course has a UKA Certificate of Course Accuracy and will be licensed by UK Athletics

Feeding Station
This will be situated every 5K there will water and at every other feed station High 5.

The Finish is just before School Lane on wide footpath 150 metres from Severn Vale Sports Centre

The finish there is a feeding station there will be high 5 and bottled water available to all competitors.

Medals / Tech T-Shirt
All Finishers will receive a specially designed medal at the Finish. You will need to collect your Tech-T Shirt in the Sports Hall after you have finished the race.

Medical Support
First Aid and emergency cover is provided by Local Medical Services. There will be Staff on duty on the course and first Aid station at the Finish.

Changing rooms / Showers
There are changing rooms and hot showers available to competitors

These will be on the Website  as soon as you have finished the race.

Refreshments will be available outside Severn Vale Sports Hall Race HQ Tea, coffee, Soft drinks, and hot food

The prizes are as follows first three Individuals Men/Women First Female Vet 0/40 and Male Vet 0/40 and then in the subsequent 10 year age groups up to 80 years of age

No Competitor will be able to win two prizes: If a veteran athlete finishes in the first three individual positions overall Men & Women they will receive the individual prize. You must collect your prize on the day of the race. No prizes will be sent out in the post to your home address.

The prize giving will take place in the Sports Hall at approximately 1.30pm. If you are unable to be at the prize giving. Please go and see Anne or Sandra in the Sports Hall so you can collect your prize.

We provide this service to the runners and we do not receive any commission please do not complain to us if your unhappy with the cost of the photos

Postponement Extreme Weather Conditions
In the unfortunate postponement of the event through circumstances beyond the control of the race organisers the event will be organised at the earliest possible date.

There will be no refunds but we have provided Event Protect Insurance free of charge for every one whom as entered this race. Please read section below Event Protect Insurance.

In the event of the race being postponed we will email you with the new date of the race also details will be put on the website

Event Protect Insurance cover is included within your entry fee for this race. For further information of the cover being provided through Allianz Insurance please read section below.
