Gloucester 5K Run Haresfield

The course comprises of a one lap course which is flat with a few inclines starting in the Village of Haresfield.
This is a rural course, well marshalled with first aid cover from local medical services

Gloucester 5km Run
Haresfield, Gloucester
Wednesday 31st March 2021 Start 6.45pm
We will be making a donation from the profits of this race to Haresfield Parish Council towards the costs of a new roof on the Village Hall and the floor to be sanded and varnished inside the hall.
Before the race
Parking: Parking for the event is in a field in the village of Haresfield on the left hand side of the road before you get to the Beacon Inn.

All runners must be 11 years of Age on the day of Competition
Race Headquarters Registration will be open from 5.15pm
Your running number and chip will be issued on the day from race HQ. You need to register no later than 6:35pm Write your name; contact details and any relevant medical information should be on the back of your race number which should be pinned at each corner and visible on the front of your clothing during the race.
The Start: is on the other side of the railway track which the public have got access to cross the railway line opposite the Beacon Inn. The Finish is outside the Beacon Inn.

Race Briefing
Assemble for race briefing in the assemble area just off the start line at 6.40pm.
Course: The race is run clockwise entirely on rural country lanes, which are not normally busy. The roads are not all in perfect condition, so please be aware of potholes and other surface irregularities. This is an agricultural area, so expect some occasional mud and other substances to be on the road.
Feeding Station: is at the Finish outside the Beacon Inn. We will be providing water
Changing: There are no changing rooms or showers for either Women or Men.
Baggage: Please note you are welcome to leave your personal belongings in the Skittle Alley in the Beacon Inn at your own risk
In the interest of your own safety and that of your fellow runners you will not be allowed to run wearing an MP3 player or portable audio device (iPod or similar) and you will be disqualified. The roads will not be closed to traffic and you will not be fully aware of traffic and around you. Neither will you hear instructions from marshals or the police.
For reasons of health and safety your number must not be transferred to another person. Doing so without the permission of the event organisers will result in disqualification.

Marshals will be situated at all significant turning points to look after runners’ safety so please follow and comply with their requests at all times.
During the race
RUNNERS MUST KEEP TO THE LEFT HAND SIDE OF THE ROAD FOR THE WHOLE OF THE RACE. Running on the right could invalidate your insurance cover and causes danger to other road users. Please do not cause concerns by running 4 or more abreast and, at the same time, crossing to the right to cut corners causing danger to themselves and other road users; follow the advice of marshals and if running in groups keep no more than two abreast and on the left side. Should you be seen running in a way that may cause danger then you risk disqualification.

Notice to runners’ supporters - no cars or bicycles on course
Because of the road narrowness around the course, supporters are asked not to travel around the course in cars
Refreshments: Are available from The Beacon Inn coffee, tea and a selection of food from the menu.

Personal and Medical details
as a condition of entry to this event you are required to complete your personal and medical details in the boxes on the back of your race number. You also agree that these may be made available, along with any other personal details to the event organisers and the relevant medical race services. In the event of an emergency part of the event terms and conditions are that you agree to supply your contact details to these bodies. By displaying your number you are agreeing to the terms and conditions of this event. Your next of kin/emergency contact should be someone who will be contactable on the day of this event.
Course
The course has a UKA Certificate of Course Accuracy. The course is a single loop of 5kms which is mainly flat with a few inclines. Runners must keep to the left hand side of the road for the whole race and at no time cross to the right hand side of the road to cut corners this may cause danger to themselves and other road users. Therefore please follow the advice of the marshals and if running in groups keep no more than two abreast and keep to the left hand side of the road. Should you be seen running in such a way as to cause danger to other road users then you risk disqualification.

Directions to event
From M5 Junction 12 South bound
Take the first exit left B4008 towards Stonehouse after approximately 200 metres take the first turning left Stonehouse follow this road for 1K at the T junction turn right Haresfield Lane after 500 metres your see a sign of the village of Haresfield go over the railway bridge and then take the first turning right on the bend follow this road for 450 metres to the end of the road and your see the Beacon Inn on your left.
From M5 Junction 12 North bound
Take the first exit left B4008 towards Gloucester at the first roundabout take the third exit B4008 towards Haresfield after 400 metres turn right into Haresfield Lane follow this road for approximately 2.4kms and your see a sign of the village of Haresfield go over the railway bridge and then take the first turning right on the bend follow this road for 450 metres to the end of the road and your see the Beacon Inn on your left.
From the A40/A417 ring road roundabout
Follow signs to Gloucester over causeway at the first traffic lights turn right A430 Castle Meads Way/Llanthony Road follow A430 after 4kms you join the Bristol Road A38 follow this road for approximately 2.6kms at the first roundabout take the second exit A38 follow this road for just over a kilometre to the next roundabout and then take the first exit left B4008 towards Haresfield after 400 metres turn right into Haresfield Lane follow this road for approximately 2.4kms and your see a sign of the village of Haresfield go over the railway bridge and then take the first turning right on the bend follow this road for 450 metres to the end of the road and your see the Beacon Inn on your left.
