The festival of sport is focusing on healthy life style for adults and children encouraging these individuals to take up sport. There are many adults which have not undertaken any type of fitness for many years so this may be the starting point to get involved with taking part in the 5K Park Run once a week and joining a local running group in the area you live.

This unites, Engages, Enriches, inspires, Encourage, Emboldens, Amaze individuals.

The festival of sport is to help adults and children also young people, both disabled and able bodies, and for the talented young runners to achieve their sporting dreams and ambitions also for talented disabled bodies to achieve the same ambitions.

There will be Wheelchair competitors who will have the opportunity to take part in the festival of Sport at 2K and 3K also our  5K Runs. The start of each race the time will be recorded by chip timing.

A great day out for all the children family and a chance for young budding athletes to run against each other.

This event sees children of all ages running with their mums and dads uncle’s aunties and grandparents! Not just a race for children but-for anyone who wants to take part in the event day

There will be Wheelchair Races for all the age groups below for Boys & Girls who take part will receive a finisher’s medal.

Children less than 8 Years old must be accompanied by an adult



There will be a medal to all finishers in the above races.



You will need to collect your race number and chip from race registration Victoria Park Bowling Club and Connswater Athletics Club, Sydenham, Belfast. BT3 9EE on Friday 19th June 2021 between 2pm to 8pm or on Saturday 20th June 2021



There is NO PARKING inside Victoria Park on Saturday 19th June 2021 accept for Wheelchair Competitors



All competitors should approach the Victoria Park from the Airport Road (BT3 9EU) there will be parking available besides the Park on Connsbank Road (BT3 9EF) opposite six car-hire and in Topaz next door. The police have been made aware that cars will be parking there for an extended period of time.



You should then come over the pedestrian Sam Thompson bridge, turn right and follow the course for 400 metres around to the pits/camp area (Registration will be a further 100 metres on in the car-park area) There will be marshals at all these points to direct you.



There are two other ways to walk into the park The underpass at Park Avenue it is tricky to find being amongst highly packed terraced housing. (PLEASE DO NOT PARK YOUR VEHICLE IN PARK AVENUE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES) It is highly likely you vehicle may get damaged if you park in this area. Good land-marks are the strand cinema (BT4 INY) and the Park Avenue Hotel on the Holywood Road (BT4 1PB) The underpass takes you under the A2 dual carriageway and into the park. THERE IS NO ACCESS INTO THE PARK FROM THE DUAL CARRIAGEWAY.



Alternatively there is a footbridge into the park at Sydenham Station, Invera Drive (BT4 1RD) Cross the footbridge turn left past East Belfast yacht club sign( right leads into Belfast City Airport) Then 50 metres up the side of the dual carriageway and right into the park. There is parking on the street at the station. That area is on a 3A metro bus route.

Refreshments will be available outside in the grounds of Victoria Park for the duration of the event
