We are pleased to invite you to take part in a forthcoming Association of Jersey Charities Election Charity Exposition, to be held on the evening of Monday 16th March at the Royal Jersey Showground (7.30 to 9.30pm)
This will be a sector-wide event designed to introduce prospective 2026 election candidates to Jersey's charity sector - its scale, diversity, impact, and value to Island life. The event forms part of AJC's election engagement programme, which focuses on education and constructive relationship-building.
What is the purpose of the Expo?
The exposition will bring together potential candidates and charity organisations in one place To:
- Increase candidate understanding of the charity sector in Jersey
- Showcase the breadth and impact of charitable work across the Island
- Encourage informed, realistic thinking about charity-government collaboration
- Help future policymakers understand how charities contribute to community wellbeing
- Build early, constructive relationships between candidates and sector organisations
The formal programme will include short addresses from the AJC, and a senior Government representative, followed by structured networking and exhibition time.
Why this matters for member charities
Decisions made by future elected representatives affect funding environments, regulation, commissioning, partnerships, and operational conditions for charities. Many candidates begin their campaigns with limited exposure to the sector. This event helps ensure they start with a better understanding of what charities do, how they deliver value, and what helps them succeed.
By participating, you help strengthen sector visibility and improve the quality of future policy conversations affecting charities.
How we would like members to be involved:
We are inviting member charities to participate as exhibitors. This would involve:
- Hosting a small stand or table display
- Providing a simple overview of your charity's work and impact
- Speaking with candidates and campaign teams
- Sharing practical examples of community value and service delivery
- Answering general questions about your area of work
- Articulating what you as a charity or a group of charities are wanting from elected politicians
What you do not need to do
You are not being asked to endorse candidates or support parties. Participation is voluntary.
What AJC will provide
- Event coordination and promotion
- Candidate invitations and briefings
- Sector overview materials distributed to candidates
- On-site support during the event
