A REMINDER OF WHEN & WHERE?
Event 1 **Saturday 21st Jan 2023 starting at midday** combines the wide open spaces at Les Quennevais playing fields. This has with some man made obstacles to negotiate plus a short section of around 350 metres into woods and soft underfoot conditions in the dune area near the fencing adjacent to the playing fields. This is a 3 lap circuit.
Event 2 **Saturday 25th Feb 2023 starting at midday** is at traditionally the premier Cross Country course in Jersey - Pont Marquet. It combines twisty wooded areas, steps, flat out straights along the Railway walk, streams and tree roots. It's generally very dry underfoot due to sandy conditions. This is a 4 lap race. Closer to 6k than 5k.
We have confirmed that the existing Advisa Cross Country series is now open to Adults of all abilities for Event 4 and Event 5 of the annual series which has previously been limited to Juniors up to 16 years old.
The Advisa has a long track record of introducing youngsters to running. The events are always held in accessible locations and typically in areas which people don't frequent that often.
These events are aimed to bring together friends, family, work or run clubs to compete with like-minded people over the winter months. You honestly don’t need any previous experience, just enthusiasm!
Courses are 5 to 6km (3.1 to 3.7 miles) and will have a variety of underfoot conditions… sandy, smooth, slippery, some twists and turns but only small elevation changes.
These courses are not too challenging, they are relatively flat and different to the Jersey Trail races which Paul Burrows (a friend) has creatively developed over 5 years.
We’ll give you all the info and help you need so if you are new to this it’s a great place to start!
These events are raising funds for Athletes on the journey to the next Island Games.
