ICY DIP Cold Water Swim Event 

Are you brave enough to dive in?  Get ready for our cold-water end of season swim event.

Join us at the stunning Cleveland Lakes Nature Reserve for an unforgettable morning of icy swims, competition, laughter, silly hats and maybe a few goosebumps!

This event will bring together cold water swimmers of all abilities and speeds, and is your chance to swim in our exclusive lake, and to experience the raw thrill of cold-water swimming. 

What’s happening?

A mixed of individual races between 50m – 400m.  

• Open Water Races – Buoy-marked course.

• Relay Race – Wait for Your Mate.  A 2-person event where swimmers wait in the water until they have both completed their 50m swims. Can you handle the cold?

• Best Hat Swim (non-competitive).  Unleash your creativity! Wear your quirkiest, brightest, or funniest hat while swimming. (Think bold, wild, and whimsical!) & you might just win a prize….

• General Swim (post competitive races) Don’t want to race? No problem.  After the events, the lake will remain open for a 45-minute dip. *There will be a separate registration time for the General Swim tickets, details will be confirmed nearer event date.

You must be 18 years of age on the day of the event to enter and take part. If you are entering the longer swim distance races you must have previous cold water swimming experience and agree to all the event terms & conditions.  

Prizes for the 'best hat' and first place (male & female) in each event

Skins and wetsuits are allowed for all events.

Event Information

Are dogs allowed? - No dogs allowed, due to the proximity of the Nature Reserve and protected wildlife. 

Is there parking? - There is plenty of free parking. 

What time does the event start? The first event will commence at 9.30 a.m. 

Is there water safety? There will be plenty of water safety and first aid provision. 

Will there be refreshments? There will be refreshments available to purchase. 

Are there changing facilities? There will be gazebos where you can get changed. 

Are there any toilets? Portaloos will be on site.   

Can we bring spectators? - Definitely! spectators are encouraged to come along and support all competitors on the day.
